Discover high-quality African art and crafts during the day

Let me tell you a little more about it. My first trip to SA was in 1999 and I felt at home immediately. Not knowing that one day this would really be home, I wanted to bring back to Italy that feeling and I filled my luggage with what in humorous Cape Afrikaans are called “Kagol Kakkies” (I love Afrikaans… my son always laughs at me when I try to speak it, but I find it so descriptive, beating Italian by far sometimes). I ended up having my Italian house full of beautiful African cloths, wood items, beaded items, shields… I love my Kagol Kakkies to bits, because there is a special meaning to every piece and I love the creativity of re-using something to create something else completely.

When our “champ” landlord offered us a new space in our same building, I thought I could create an hub in Paarl where African crafts can be discovered and taken home, here in SA or overseas, young and unknown artists can showcase their creations, or for anyone to find the special gift, including wine accessories between art and ceramics.

From 6pm, The Hive Studio becomes a special place for wine tastings and private celebrations. The Wine Hive has been blessed by many of you celebrating special occasions and the themed tastings are always a full house, having a bit more space, both can be held in a dedicated, private area. Same food, same wine choice, same “me”… but totally for you and our phenomenal winemakers.
